Turto Bank reported on Wednesday for 1.7 mln. intending to sell the administrative building in Kaunas, Laisvės avenue, where the police commissariat used to be located, at the starting price of EUR.
According to Guoda Gurauskaitė, director of the Sales Department of Turto banka, the reconstruction of Laisvė aleja, which is currently taking place next to the building, further increases the value of possible investments in the building. In addition, according to her, properties of this size in city centers are not common in the real estate market.
According to the report, the three-story, more than 1.14 thousand sq. sq. meters of area, he also owns part of the land – 16 acres.
The building is currently not in use.
The building built in 1875 is included in the Register of Immovable Cultural Values. Between the wars, a child health center was located there, a dispensary was established and later the Mother and Child Museum was established.
In 1938-1951, the sculptor professor Bronius Pundzius also lived there. Later, the building changed owners, until finally, the police stationed here until 2021.
According to Turto banka, after the sale of Laisvės al. 24 building, the amount received will be allocated to the construction of the multi-storey parking lot of the Klaipėda police station.
