Timothy Rose.

Instead of living in Washington, the capital of the United States of America, in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, or in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, many of you choose to move to live and achieve career heights in the content of 25 thousand inhabitants in Utena? It turns out that the regions of Lithuania still attract professionals from all over the world. the American Timothy Rose predicted the established stereotypes and decided that it is possible to have a successful career in the city of Lithuania and does not rule out the possibility of staying there for a long time.

Utena was attracted by the short distance and the reasonable price

The current head of Utena beer production has been living in the city for a little over two months. Born and raised in the vicinity of Washington, and later wandering around Europe, Tim Uten moved to Sweden, where he worked for the Carlsberg group. The American is satisfied with life in Utena, and although the city has 28 times less people than his native Washington, Tim says he has everything he needs.

I like it, Utena is calm and peaceful. You don’t have to travel far for work, which is especially fun because I used to live in bigger cities. i new experience is refreshing. In addition, Vilnius or Kaunas are also very close. However, Utena has everything you need for a normal life at more affordable prices. Even if I lived in a bigger city, my routine would probably be the same: get up, go to work, go home, make something to eat, maybe have a hobby, and finally go to bed, says Tim.

He adds that he spends his free time learning Lithuanian. He also loves Utena’s nature, so he often spends his weekends in it, going for short walks or longer hikes. It is encouraging that many colleagues also live in the same place. That’s why I often spend my free time with them, Tim adds.

See the job advertisement on LinkedIn

Copenhagen also played an important role in the American’s trip to Lithuania. Even in the capital of Denmark, Tim is a student at the Scandinavian brewing school, where he studies together with the current head of the Utena brewery, Dalia Joyte. While working at the office, he sees a job advertisement shared by her. LinkedIn on the platform, D. Joyt announced that he was looking for an employee. I turned to her and asked if it would be possible for a man who doesn’t even speak Lithuanian. Obviously there was, laughs Tim. The American admits that it was necessary to go through several stages of selection, but his work experience accumulated in more than one brewery, as well as good education and other reasons determined that he heard a positive answer.

The current production manager of the factory says he won’t think about it for a long time if he will really move to Uten. First of all, it was a great opportunity for me to move up the career ladder. Secondly, I was already in Lithuania before, a former colleague, with whom I worked together in Copenhagen, invited me to get well. I spent most of my weekends in Vilnius, and although some foreigners don’t have the best opinion about Eastern Europe, I found it to be just as great as Western Europe, says the American.

He also shares that he was pleasantly surprised by the modernity of the Utena brewery: Although the brewery itself is five decades old, you can immediately see that it has been regularly invested. Investments are still being made now. Therefore, the factory stands out for its comfortable working environment, comfort, quality and many other aspects. I am very happy to be a part of an organization that employs so many professionals who also have excellent personal qualities.

all have similar abilities

At the Utena brewery, Tim directly manages a team of several, and indirectly a dozen of them. He says he takes on the qualities of a colleague. They are all true professionals, educated, but at the same time very friendly and relaxed. I really have something to learn in my career path, says the production manager.

It’s true, he adds that the biggest so far is in Lithuanian. The American only recently took Lithuanian language lessons in his routine. Many of them speak English well, but some of the older staff have to use Google translate to communicate. Unfortunately, I won’t learn the language overnight, the American smiles, emphasizing that he wants to stay in Utena for a longer time and climb the career ladder even higher.
