“The frost is back. Tonight, hide your sweetest plants if possible. Take it inside. If they are outside, cover them. If it is not possible to cover it well, it is better to at least water the ground. In the greenhouses, you can light and leave a few grave candles (which burn for a long time).

I just want to remind you that the strength of the frost depends a lot on your location, terrain, soil, etc. The cold accumulates in the lowlands, so there is the greatest risk. The coldest, if the whole night is clear, is at sunrise. In addition, the most dangerous frosts occur when there is also a negative temperature in the air,” states Weather and Climate in Lithuania.

According to Meteo.lt, the cold will bite the most in the northern and eastern regions of the country. During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, 1-5 degrees of frost is expected on the surface of the soil, in many places in the air.

During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, frosts can reach as low as 0-5 degrees Celsius.

Frost – cooling of the soil surface or air to 0 °C and below when the average daily air temperature is positive. During the non-vegetation period of plants, negative temperatures are simply called cold, not frost.
