Klaipėda construction company “Kesrama” for 670.5 thousand. In Klaipėda, infrastructure for launching ships into the Danė River has been installed in Klaipėda, the municipality of the port city announced on Tuesday.

The project, which took longer than planned, implemented near the Liepai Bridge, was largely financed by the Klaipėda City Municipality, which allocated 646 thousand. euros. Another 24.5 thousand euros was allocated by the state.

According to Klaipėda Mayor Arvydas Vaitkaus, the slope of the slip (a facility for building ships – BNS) was too small in the original design, and other design mistakes were made.

“The implementation of the project took some time, because before starting the work, it became clear that additional work needs to be done so that the slip could be used by ship owners, and the slip itself would not be washed away by the water of the first flood. Additionally, the base of the slip was stabilized by installing a retaining wall,” Klaipėda City Mayor Arvydas Vaitkus said in a statement.

According to him, until now there was no place in the port city where owners of small boats could safely launch their vessels.

According to the municipality of Klaipėda, there is also a parking lot, an access road, a water column, an outdoor gazebo, toilets, connected and previously installed pedestrian and bicycle paths at the boat launch site.

Later, the project also plans to install video surveillance cameras.
