“Find your horse” – sounds the message, and at the same time, Kaunas College welcomes those who are looking for studies this year and are waiting for the upcoming period of general admission to higher education institutions. According to the representatives of the college, if a person finds a favorite activity and is surrounded by an environment suitable for development, steps or even leaps towards a successful career become inevitable.

“I want to encourage those who are just drawing the contours of their career. It is understandable that in these times of information overload, choosing something that is really interesting and “transports” is not the easiest task. Apparently, there are so many sources of knowledge, opportunities to experience, offers to study that it becomes difficult to understand how some things are more valuable than others”, remarked Aistė Veverskytė, head of the Marketing and Communication Department of Kaunas College.

In her opinion, it is even more difficult to make a decision for those who are under the stress of matriculation exams. And where is the pressure of the social environment, when the question is constantly repeated: where are you going to stand?
“At Kaunas College, we do not promise space flights to the future, nor perspectives of ocean latitudes, nor super elevators to careers or miracles of artificial intelligence, as has already been the case in high school advertisements. We think those wow effects can be very short-lived. What do we offer? And the opportunity to try and rein in that area, which would lead to the necessary path”, said A. Veverskytė with a smile.

According to her, the future is too changing, so basically adapting to change is determined by the human ability to constantly update knowledge and skills in the desired field. However, when starting, it is necessary to form a solid foundation: “It is necessary to have something to build new things on, otherwise there are only separate fragments of knowledge. And they are like a house of cards – as soon as something new hits, it collapses,” the interviewer joked.

Freshman Kajus Kolojanskas, who chose the multimedia technology study program at Kaunas College, says that studying at Kaunas College was his priority. Here he found not only a study program he liked, but also a supportive environment.

“I am really happy with my choice to study at Kaunas College. I feel great here, because I am surrounded by a very cool community, understanding, friendly teachers who know their work, studies take place in modern premises”, shared his impressions of the freshman who became one of the faces of this year’s campaign.
As soon as he started his studies, the boy decided to get actively involved in other college activities as well – he joined the student representative, and perhaps the biggest impression on him was the opportunity to contribute to the organization of fun events. One of them is the recently held “Night Workshop”, where almost 100 schoolchildren from all over Lithuania spent the night at the Kaunas college and tried out different activities and learned about the study programs at the higher school.
“Both studies and extracurricular activities really help to reveal my strong personal qualities and abilities, and allow me to develop them. I noticed that during these years I became even more communicative, gained more courage, learned to make better decisions. All these qualities were probably best revealed when organizing the Night Workshop, said K. Kolojanskas.
When asked if he would recommend others to choose studies at Kaunas college, the student answers “yes” without hesitation.
“I really recommend choosing studies at this university. Here, many opportunities open up for those who want to gain knowledge, discover themselves not only in study activities, but also outside of them, to engage in their favorite activities, which can later be valuable in the further career path”, shared the Kaunas College student.
