In Lithuania, Akira Nakai redid the Porsche 993 (the last air-cooled 911) on behalf of a collector from our country. He worked for two days at the Hammersmith motors workshop in Vilnius.

The creative process of the Japanese genius, from the beginning (when the factory Porsche fenders were cut) to the end, when the car’s wheels touched the ground, could be watched for free by anyone who wanted to. A VIP area was reserved for invited guests and was protected by security.

It is interesting that the organizers of this exclusive event acted with restraint, as if they were Japanese. Although Akira Nakai is a cult figure who has created a distinctive language of automotive design over several decades, this event was not promoted, it did not become mass. Therefore, those who really understand the intricacies of such tuning (lit. – decoration) came to the workshop.

The Japanese worked in Vilnius for two days. As has become the norm, he came with his dog, smoked a cigarette right there during the petrauk. And in the background, at the request of Akira Nakai, as during the creative processes in other cities of the world, jazz music sounded.
