We want to reconstruct the streets of Lviv and Krakow – MadeinVilnius.lt

May 9 6 p.m. “ID Vilnius” invites residents, local businessmen and everyone interested in changes in Šnipiškės to the presentation of the vision of changes in Lviv and Kraków streets. During the meeting, street pre-project proposals prepared by “ID Vilnius” will be presented, participants will be able to ask questions and submit their observations for street development guidelines.

The meeting will take place on the 20th floor of Vilnius City Municipality (Konstitucijos pr. 3). During the meeting, specialists will present the perspectives of the development of the area in question, the visions of the streets of Lviv and Kraków, and the perspective of sustainable mobility (including public transport) in this territory. After the presentation, there will be a discussion at the thematic tables – participants will be able to ask questions and express their opinion about the design principles of the streets of Lviv and Kraków and the public spaces adjacent to these streets.

Street vision schemes will be published on the websites of “ID Vilnius” and Vilnius municipality on May 7. (Tuesday). The street maps will be sent to registered participants via the e-mail specified in the registration form. by post

The purpose of street pre-project proposals is to provide guidelines for the future implementation of repair and renewal projects of Lviv and Kraków streets and street-related green spaces.

Šnipiškės is one of the fastest changing areas in the city of Vilnius. The fastest development is taking place at Konstitucija, Lviv and Kraków streets. In another way, this part of Šnipiškii is known as the central business district of Vilnius (English central business district – CBD). In the coming years, the central business district of Vilnius is expected to increase the number of jobs and population. At the same time, new functions will be created, new points of attraction will appear: restaurants, cafes, various services. In this context of territory development, the formation of a unified and harmonious relationship between buildings, streets, mobility and greenery is extremely important.

In 2022, the Vilnius municipality began to strategically create a vision of changes in the public spaces of Šnipiškii and the streets connecting the southern part of Šnipiškii. It must meet the high quality criteria of a modern city – Vilnius city street standard and 10 architectural rules.

In 2022, when the formation of the vision of changes in the streets of Lviv and Kraków began, it began with research on the needs of local residents and a live meeting discussing possible scenarios of street changes. There was a live survey of passers-by on the streets of Lviv and Kraków and an online survey of residents. The results of both surveys can be found in this document. in 2022 in December, a meeting was organized with residents regarding the possible scenarios of the streets of Lviv and Kraków. Meetings and surveys became an important starting point in the beginning of the development of the vision of changes in the streets of Lviv and Kraków.
