The office-gallery “D9 Artsy Office” created by the Lithuanian architectural studio “IMPLMNT architects” (architects Aurimas Syrusas and Greta Brimė) was rated as one of the best in 2023-2024 in the international design competition “A’ Design Award & Competition” held in Italy. projects in the category of interior and exhibition spaces.

Professionals from 108 countries participated in the so-called “A’ Design Award & Competition” (designaward.com), the largest and most influential international design competition, presenting their work in 104 design categories. The international commission consisted of design professionals, experts, media representatives and entrepreneurs.

The architects of the Artsy D9 office masterfully combined historical heritage with contemporary innovation. Authentic elements – meticulously crafted doors and window frames – have been restored and combined with contemporary features to create a dynamic environment. The highlight is the new atrium, a dramatic gallery space that houses a curated international art collection. This combination of heritage and modernity reflects the architects’ commitment to preserving history while infusing it with contemporary vitality,” the work of IMPLMNT architects is appreciated on the competition website.

Not by chance. A few weeks ago, IMPLMNT architects won the “Golden Palettes’23” award for the best D9 Artsy Office office interior for two hundred workplaces.

In Vilnius, A. Domaševičius st. 9, the restored impressive space contextually expands the building’s history and creates new narratives through the almost 200 artworks on display here, belonging to the collection of the Noewe Foundation (formerly the Lewben Art Foundation). This concept was also evaluated by a commission of foreign experts, so “D9 Artsy Office” won one of the main awards – for the best office interior.

A little earlier, the office-gallery was awarded for the best office interior in the “My Space 2023” architecture competition, and also won the “Good Design” award.

According to the architects themselves, A. Syrus and G. Brimė, “when thinking about adapting the building to its new functions, the whole reconstruction concept was based on two words – “museum” and “gallery”, because it was intended to exhibit about 170 works of art from the Noewe Foundation here “collections – contemporary and modern art, sculptures, installations, photographs”.

in 2016 The architect studio “IMPLMNT architects” has a solid portfolio of projects for artistic and cultural spaces. Among them are the exhibition architecture of the southern building of the Lithuanian Art Museum Jonuš Radvilas Palace, the Stasios Eidrigevičius Arts Center in Panevėžys, the athletics arena in Vilnius, the reconstruction of the “Keistuolių Teatro”, the Lithuanian National Pavilion in Leipzig book? at the fair etc.

Open to the public

After renovation almost exactly a year ago, last May, the office-gallery “D9 Artsy Office” will soon open its doors to the public on May 18 and 19. during the “Open House Vilnius” festival, then guided tours will be organized several times a month.

According to Ugnė Bužinskaitė, director of the Noewe Foundation, the office currently exhibits almost 200 works of contemporary Lithuanian and foreign art from the foundation’s collection.
