According to the Mayor of the Vilnius District Municipality Robert Duchnevičius, the infrastructure development contribution is an important financial instrument for the implementation of infrastructure projects, which in the long term will have a significant positive impact on local residents. “This year, we allocated more than 6.4 million to ten municipalities. These investments are financed from municipal infrastructure development contributions paid by the builders. The collected funds are returned to the respective precincts, where these contributions were paid, by renovating or developing their infrastructure.

The most infrastructure development contributions were collected by Avižienii (2.2 million euros), Zujūnai (819 thousand euros), Riešės (730 thousand euros), Nemėžys (640 thousand euros) and Mickūnai (282 thousand euros) townships.
