Registration will begin on May 3. 10:00 a.m.

During the excursion, we will learn how the residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, built in the late Gothic style, in the Lower Castle of Vilnius turned into Renaissance palazzo type palace, we will get to know the history of their construction, the structure of the foundations. After viewing the exhibition of authentic archaeological finds from the Renaissance era, we will discuss what scientific data was applied in the preparation of the palace restoration project and implemented in the interiors, we will view four restored furnaces from this era and the interior of the palace arts. At the end of the tour, we will visit the 16th century. the octagonal tower of the defensive castle demolished by the Grand Duke of Lithuania Žygimantas Augustus and the new palace buildings built in its place and the palace kitchen in one of them.

The excursion is an event of the “European signs in Lithuania: Renaissance” program of the Lithuanian museum road.
