According to the company’s statement, Antanas Butkus, who graduated from the Kaunas Polytechnic in 1964, as a qualified road and bridge builder, started his work in the same year – according to his appointment, he worked as a technician, foreman, manager of the Kaunas Road and Bridge Operation Trust. foreman, executor, head of the production department.

While working, he studied at the western department of the Faculty of Construction and Plumbing of the Kaunas Polytechnic Institute, which he graduated from in 1972. graduated with the qualification of an engineer-builder.

1975-1978 worked as the head of the Construction and Repair Board of Kaunas finishing works. engineer, manager, 1978-1981. – Deputy manager of the Construction and Repair Trust.

in 1981 appointed deputy manager of “Kaunos Statybos” Trust, supervised the construction of civil facilities. Worked until 1985.

Since 1985 started working as a director at the then Kaunas House Construction Combine.

in 1987 after reorganizing the combine, he became the head of PSS “Kaunas”, from 1991. until 2008 Kaunas State House Construction Combine, after its privatization – AB “Kausta”, after changing its name – AB “YIT Kausta” as the general director.

Antanas Butkaus managed company “YIT Kausta” implemented many large projects, which paid back its clients’ investments tenfold and were nominated and recognized as “Products of the Year”.

The objects built by the company are the leisure center in Vilnius “Forum Palace”, Akropolis, “Siemens arena”, shopping center “Banginis”, administrative and laboratory building of AB “Kraft foods Lietuva”, factory “Trys sezonai”, bakery “Gardėsis”, shopping and leisure center “Mega” in Kaunas. Kaunas Resurrection Church was reconstructed without profit.

On the initiative of the general director of the company, A. Butkaus, and the president of Korio Group, K. Bačkevičius, wax melting furnaces of the 11th century were prepared to be exhibited in Kaunas City Hall Square.

A. Butkus retired from the position of manager of the company, which is now called “YIT Lietuva”, in 2008.
