The religious building would also serve as a pastoral center. The building is planned to be built next to the already built Catholic St. Joseph schools.

Residents of Pashilaičiai are invited to familiarize themselves with the project

“We invite the residents of Pashilaičiai to familiarize themselves with the church and community center project! We want to share the vision of what is expected next to the school we designed and to hear your thoughts,” the project organizers invite to the meeting.

The invitation to the presentation of the project also states that in addition to the church, St. John Paul II (JP2) Pastoral Center, which includes centers for evangelization and worship, children and youth, families and seniors, “Carito” and social assistance, canteen and community cafe, event hall and exhibition spaces, JP2 info center and Christian literature library, JP2 media and communication center, meeting, games and sports spaces;

in the square there will be a Rosary path for the procession of lights of Our Lady of Fatima and St. Memorial stops of John Paul’s visit to Lithuania;

even the architectural expression of the sanctuary will recognize the signs of this Pope and his invitation to Lithuania;

St. will stand at the approaches to the square. The statue of John Paul II and the permanently open gate, on which the patrons, foundations and main supporters of the construction of this church will be commemorated.

Public hearing

Representatives of the public can submit their proposals by e-mail to [email protected] until April 28. The public hearing of project proposals will be held on April 28, at 11:30 a.m., at the Pashilaičius Catholic St. Joseph’s school amphitheater immediately after St. Mass.

The Vilnius City Municipality also informs that the projects presented for public consultation have not yet received the municipality’s approval – specialists make a decision after evaluating not only project solutions, but also public comments.
