The “69 in the Sky” concert that attracted thousands of fans shakes Kaunas: tears and moving speeches on stage

--

From the very first minutes, it was felt that the fans were waiting for the girls of the group to appear on the stage. A crowd of thousands chanted their name and the lyrics to popular songs. When they appeared on the stage, even louder cheers were heard.

“Thank you for being there once in a generation for 20 years. I hope you will be with us. I know very well what you were looking forward to the most this year – our concert and summer,” said Karina Krysko before singing a playful song.

During the concert, the girls of the band constantly thanked the gathered crowd and openly said how they felt about the magical evening that took place.

“What is happening is unbelievable. You have made an unreal gift of life. We are even shaking,” said the girls of the group.

“Tonight, tears are in my eyes not because I’m sad, but because I’m terribly happy,” said Nijole Pareigytė before the song “Ašaros” was played.

The hit machine rolled in from the first seconds, choreographer Šarūnas Kirdeikis prepared dynamic numbers, and designer Monika Kazakevičiūtė created 12 spectacular costumes, which the girls changed at a crazy pace.

“Thinking about this concert, we wanted unconventional solutions in choreography, visualizations, and costumes. We knew that M. Kazakevičiūtė, the designer of the MAS924 fashion house, would fulfill the theme of costumes perfectly: we were inspired by her sense of style and her ability to mix different materials, classic with disco and arrange everything in such a way that it looks effective and fits together,” said Goda Sabutytė right before the concert. – Aliyeva.

“We want to look like a group, but not the same, but emphasizing our individuality. We worked with Monika for the first time in 20 years, but we had seen her designs before, we dreamed about her. And when we met, she scanned each one and questioned them attentively. We talked about the emotional division of the concert into three parts, and later Monika was left with the challenge of sewing the costumes in such a way that we could change clothes in a few minutes and surprise the audience.

The foursome had a squad behind the scenes dressers, so he didn’t even think that he wouldn’t be able to do something. Monica was also calm.

“The most important thing for me was to understand them – very different women, each of whom is a different type and has something to highlight and show. At the same time, we thought about how to combine their costumes so that it fits not only their personality, but also the action they perform on stage, keeping in mind lighting, effects, and the scale of the stage itself, – said M. Kazakevičiūtė. – It was a very interesting job. I am happy that “69 in the sky” chose us. For me, this is an iconic foursome that has been in demand on the stage for 20 years. I was 14 when they started singing, so I’m glad to be able to touch those times and bring everything to these times together, experience the whole thing at once vibe.

Moments of the concert – in the gallery:

If the four met the designer only after starting to plan this concert, the choreographer Šarūnas Kirdeikis has known “69 in the sky” since the beginning of their careers, it was previously written in the press release.

“We met in one of the most famous Lithuanian show ballet troupes more than 20 years ago. When I joined the group, I was probably the second worst dancer in Lithuania, and they were the second best. I looked at them and thought: what am I doing here? – one of today’s leading choreographers and show directors recalled with a laugh. – Then they took me to a concert group with them, it was a great inspiration and a push to try and reach the level. And then we grew up together, all the television and award shows started, we met wherever possible, we got to know each other better and better. 20 years… They have their own children and husbands, but I am still the greatest love of their life. I really couldn’t miss the opportunity to organize this arena show together, because “69 in the sky” is one of the most professional groups working, singing and dancing live in Lithuania.”

Sh. Kirdeikis was happy that they managed to create a choreography together, as if dividing the show into parts of different moods, which also reflect the characters of the girls themselves.

“They can be both chaotic and sexy, channeling playful humor and then turning on their heel to become elegant ladies.” They have so many colors, and this concert will be a perfect reflection of what the girls have refined over the past 20 years. This is not just a concert of “ferrets”: it is a concert of Goda, Ingrida, Karina, Nijolė, because each of them brings their own color to the group. Elegance, discipline, leading the audience, playing and smiling to the ears – each has its own and without one of them the whole picture would change”, said the choreographer.

Guests arriving at the arena:

According to him, arena concerts are extremely difficult.

“It is a big space, a lot of walking, dancing, specific breathing. It needs to be calculated so that the performer is comfortable. And during the rehearsals, I kept turning to them to see if we were dying or if the smile bracket was rolling down the edges. But it almost didn’t happen, because they reach the maximum. Technically and choreographically, it will be one of the highest quality concerts in Lithuania. “69 in the sky” does not hide behind the dancers, they are universal themselves. There are very few such performers”, said Šarūnas, who returned from Berlin, where he lives and works, especially for “69 Danguje”.

“Everyone who works at this concert is a professional. We grew up and chose the best specialists in our field in Lithuania, said Goda. – Šarūnas is a human orchestra, and so is choreographer Kristina Pališkytė, who prepares her twerk-style team and will give gas on stage herself, and she is a dance master with an international career, who participates in competitions and events of various genres. We get excited when we see what they’re gutting… We’re glad to have MAMA author of the year Plucando with us, his passion for creating a fresh, new sound for old hits is very inspiring. The organizers of our concert, show director Jurga Klimaitė-Riebling and lighting, sound, LED screens, spec. effects and lasers, stage design teams, many of these people did everything to raise the bar even higher. It was a lot of work for us, but it’s always fun to work with the best.”
