Žydrūnas Lukošiūnas: “Alytus is a football city and the aura of the stadium adds its own”
After a long break, Dzūkija football club DFK “Dainava” is finally returning to play in Alytus – its home stadium – where it will undoubtedly feel the support of one of the biggest fans in the entire TOPsport A league.
After 10 rounds, Dainavians have 12 points on their account and are in sixth place in the standings among ten teams. We spoke with Žydrūnas Lukošiūnas, one of the managers of the Dainava club, about the results of the start of this season, the much-talked-about fan conflict in Šiauliai, and what it means for the players to finally return to the Alytus Central Stadium, the fan procession and the upcoming promotions, events with the city community during the season.
“Dainava” football players will meet FK “Panevėžys” in the central match of the round this Sunday, April 28. The match will start at 19:00 at the central stadium of Alytus city. However, before the match, the club invites all fans to join the DFK “Dainava” fans’ support march and show strong love for the team at the same time. The procession will start at the Town Hall Square from 18:00. Together with football players, Dainava football academy players and fans will move towards the central stadium of the city of Alytus.
