On Thursday, the Kaunas District Municipal Council approved the description of the funding procedure for the summer employment and integration into the labor market program for the youth of Pakaunia, which will provide the youth with the opportunity to work and acquire practical work skills during the summer vacation.

This program is intended for young people aged 14-19 who have declared their place of residence in Kaunas district. The program will be implemented from July 1. until August 31, not during the education process and 100 percent. financed by the municipal budget funds.

“We aim to increase the motivation of young people to choose seasonal work during the summer holidays, to help them integrate into the labor market,” said Domantė Sinkevičiūtė, the youth coordinator of the Kaunas district municipality.

Cooperation with businesses operating in the territory of the Kaunas district municipality will also be encouraged, and the quality of professional guidance for young people will be improved.

In May, the municipality’s website will publish registrations of employers intending to employ young people during the summer holidays, as well as of young people intending to participate in the program.

The employer participating in the program will be reimbursed for each employed young person, but not more than 5: the municipality will pay 300 euros per month, the maximum duration of compensation is 2 months.

If the young person works part-time, then the compensation will be calculated in proportion to the time actually worked and the amount of compensation for one employed young person during the entire employment period in the current calendar year cannot exceed 600 euros.
