Explosions thundered in Kharkiv, Dnipro and Odesa on Wednesday night.
Ukrainians claim to have shot down 15 out of 16 Shahed drones overnight. Kharkiv was attacked again on Tuesday, explosions were heard in the city of Poltava.
It has been officially confirmed that Ukraine will receive ATACMS missiles. True, it is not entirely clear whether this will be an addition to the Ukrainian arsenal of M39 (range 165 km), or whether Ukraine will receive M39A1 or M57 (300 km) and thus significantly expand its capabilities.
And, of course, no less important questions – when will the missiles reach Ukraine, how many missiles and will additional launchers (HIMARS) be transferred?
Luhansk direction
Kupjansk. Traditionally – without changes.
Lyman. Along with intensive attempts to break through the defense of the Ukrainian forces in the Terni – Yampolivka – Torske section, the Russians also began to attack further north, that is, in the Novoyehorivka – Nadia section. Last year it was quite hot here, but then the Ukrainians managed to stabilize the situation. If the attacks around Ternus are intended to move towards Lyman, then the attack in the Novoyehorivka-Nadia section is the Russians’ attempt to improve their tactical position, thus creating conditions for future operations towards Borova.
Syverska. Heavy fighting on the contact line, Ukrainian forces held their positions.
Donetsk direction
Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian units of the 92nd mechanized brigade managed to recover part of the positions in the southern approaches of Ivanivsk through counterattacks.
In an ideal world, it would be very good if they moved further north, reached the road to Ivanivsk, and went to the rear of the 11th separate brigade of Russian paratroopers operating there.
It is difficult to say whether the Ukrainians have enough forces for this. It cannot be ruled out that the Ukrainian forces will try to support their forces defending near Klishijivka with local attacks in order to push the Russians off the hills.
Pokrovsk – Vuhledar. Northern flank. The previously mentioned introduction of fresh Russian reserves into the battle (the 35th and 74th brigades from the 41st army in reserve) helped the aggressor to deepen and widen the breach near Ocheretyn.
They control most of the settlement, have also entered Novobachmutivka in its south, continue their attack towards Keramik in the east.
Until American ammunition and other weapons arrived, it was critical for Ukrainian defenders to hold the heights in the northeast (Archangelsk – Keramik) and west (Yevhenivka – Sokilai – Solovyov). Otherwise, the Ukrainians may lose territories on the eastern bank of the Vovchy River (Yevhenivka – Mežové – Netailové) within a few months.
Southern flank. The Russians are trying to build on the success at Novomychailivka, but the Ukrainians managed to defend themselves this time.
Zaporizhia direction
Explosions in Mariupol. A strike by Storm Shadow missiles is likely, but an MLRS strike is also not ruled out.
Ukrainians continue local attacks in the vicinity of Robotynė and Verbovė. Russians are more active in the Staromajorské – Urožaina section.
South direction
Clashes continue on the left bank of the Dnipro, Ukrainians maintain bridgeheads. A weather emergency was declared in Crimea in the evening. Probably Ukrainian Storm Shadow/SCALP carriers in the sky.
