April 28 “Bagažinių dienos” will start for the first time in the parking lot of Vilnius “Litexpo” – participants will sell the goods accumulated from their trunks, and visitors will look for curiosities.
According to the organizers of the event, this initiative will allow participants to free up their closets and pantries, and thrift enthusiasts will be able to find vintage items that have left the market at good prices. Živilė Kurienytė, marketing manager of Festivus, the company organizing the event, says that the main goal of Bagažinių dini is to reduce consumerism and inspire people to choose sustainable alternatives.
“Why hoard, keep in a closet or throw away an unused but good item when you can give it a second life?”, thinks the representative of Festivus.
According to the organizers of Bagažinių dini, people’s awareness is growing year by year and the idea of sustainable consumption is becoming closer to Lithuanians. It is expected that the recycling of used items will become even more popular in the long run and help reduce the negative impact of consumerism on the environment.
More than 180 cars will open their trunks at the event. In them you can find household appliances, work, household items, books, clothes, jewelry or even phones.
According to the organizers, the amount of luggage is a surprise, because even the participants cannot list exactly how much and what kind of things they will have when registering, so you can expect anything.
The event is also worth visiting for collectors looking for old records, cassettes, collectible badges, coins or other interesting specimens.
Families are also welcome – parents with little ones will be able to buy various goods for children here: from strollers, car seats to books, toys and clothes.
“Luggage Days” will be held on April 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center LITEXPO.
