This idea came from the police community communication department, and the idea was supported by all colleagues who agree that there is no such thing as a stranger’s pain, so we have to help everyone who needs help as much as we can.

For her part, Rūta Filejeva, the founder and head of the “Gėrio trupinėlis” foundation, does not hide her gratitude to the police commissariat team and says that their sincerity and willingness to contribute only shows that all of us, by joining our forces and capabilities, can reduce social isolation and help those who are currently receiving support. most needed.

Helped needy families

As Odeta Jukniūtė, Head of the Communication Sub-Department of the Panevėžys County Chief Police Commissariat, tells us, the idea to help the “Gėrio trupinėlis” charity fund arose because this fund takes care of those who are most in need: “We thought of celebrating Guardian Angel Day by donating. Together with the “Sportas basomis” and “Judesios DNR” teams of Panevėžys physiotherapists, we decided that this would be a mutual initiative to achieve a noble goal – physiotherapists gave procedures to the police community, and the community donated funds to “Gėrio trupinėlius”.

We considered for a long time which fund to allocate funds to. We came to a common conclusion, we will use the collected money to improve health. We were very interested and chose “Goodness Crumb”. We did this because this fund is dedicated to the most needy people. We believed that even our small donation would be a boost and a real help to those who need it the most.

I can be happy that my colleagues and I collected about 400 euros for “Gėrios trupinėlis” – my heart is happy that we could be useful. Especially since after getting to know the dedicated representatives of “Gėrios trupinėlis”, we were convinced that they are benefactors who devote all their free time and energy to the people of our county”, said the head of the communication sub-department.

Helping is a duty, not a necessity

According to Odeta Jukniūtė, the Panevėžys police community participates in various charity actions every year and has even established its own charity and support fund, and allocates the collected funds to colleagues or their relatives in the event of an accident or illness: “Many of us have faced serious illnesses and losses of our family members and we know, how important support is, often just a kind word and support is worth its weight in gold.

I think that only by being together we can grow. I believe we are stronger when we lend a helping hand to someone.

We often think that we can’t help because we don’t have much, but I want to remind you that a new purchase will not bring as much real joy as support and help to those in need. Helping others when they are in trouble is not an obligation, but a necessity.”

Helped the family of a colleague

O. Jukniūtė says that every story whose heroes need financial support brings tears to my eyes.

She recalled a very touching story about a colleague’s family: “The heart always goes to help children or the elderly. It seems to us that these are the most vulnerable groups that need attention and help.

When we decide that we want to help someone, we always think about our community, for example, we allocated the funds donated during Pie Day to the young family of a colleague,” shares the head of the communications department.

When asked to share if there are any stories that touched Odetta personally, she was open – each case is touching and remains deep in her heart: “The story that stands out the most and touched all of us is the family story of our colleague Lukas.

We are very happy that we were able to bring even a little bit of light moments and joy into their daily lives during a difficult and painful time for them.”

The head of the foundation thanks for the kindness

For her part, Rūta Filejeva does not hide her gratitude to every organization that contributes to the well-being of the families under the care of “Gėrios trupinelis” and says that this cool action organized by the officials made not only the fund happy, but also brought great benefits to the families waiting for support: “I was very happy with such the act of the officers, it is an example to many. The more united we are, the smaller the social divide will be in our society.

I am glad that the Panevėžys chief police station discovered us, called us, and allocated the collected money to families suffering from poverty, health problems and poor household conditions.

We can really do a lot together, so I strongly encourage other cities to join social initiatives and help those who need help the most.”
