As the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reports, on Sunday in the town of Adutiškis, the officers of the border checkpoint stopped an Audi A3 car with Lithuanian license plates for inspection. Three men were traveling in it at the border with Belarus, one of whom did not have an identity document.
The border guards found that this 48-year-old Lithuanian citizen, who does not have a permanent place of residence, does not have a permit to be on the border section during a declared state-level emergency. What’s more, VSAT officials found out that this person is wanted by the Vilnius police because of the crime he committed.
The border guards issued a warning to the man for violating the border regime.
On the same day, when the plane from Amsterdam landed at the Vilnius airport, the VSAT Vilnius border team officers of the Vilnius airport border checkpoint detained a 42-year-old Lithuanian citizen who had been deported from the Netherlands for violating the laws of this country.
It turned out that the Marijampolė police had announced a search for a man who left Lithuania eight years ago and was accused of committing a crime in his homeland. He was brought to the premises of the Vilnius airport border checkpoint, and after contacting the police officers who initiated the search for him, he was handed over to the capital’s police convoy on the same day.
Another Lithuanian citizen, who has recently been hiding in Spain, was detained by the border guards at the Vilnius airport on Monday. Among the passengers of the plane from Denmark was a 31-year-old Lithuanian who was sent there for violating the laws of the country.
While checking the personal documents of this passenger, the border guards found that the Vilnius police are looking for a man convicted of a crime committed in Lithuania, but evading the imposed sentence. He was arrested and handed over to the police on the same day.
