During this Easter, Anapilin, the daughter of the Žemaitija region, who grew up in the land of Joniškis many years ago, the creator of extraordinary jeweled, carefully embroidered and crocheted handicrafts, gathered local craftsmen and folk artists and led them for a long time, the founder of the literary club “Audruvė”, and also a long-time editor of the district newspaper journalist, honorary citizen of Joniškis, Aniceta Krajinienė.
In 2000-2001, the municipality of Joniškis district awarded A. Krajinienei a creative scholarship. In 2010, she was awarded the first statuette of Mykolos Arkangelos, established by the municipality of Joniškis district, “For nurturing traditional culture, merits to ethnic culture and popularizing the Joniškis region”, and in 2017 “For significant contribution to the nurturing and development of folk art traditions of Joniškis region, preservation of craft traditions and Promotion of Joniškis region” was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Joniškis.
while still working at the Skuoda district newspaper, A. Krajinienė led a circle of writers there, and later, while working at the Joniškis district newspaper, she founded the Joniškis district literary club “Audruvė” in 1976, which she led until 1989.
All her life, A. Krajinienė with love and infinite care embroidered blouses, collars, low-cut aprons, peltaki scarves, embroidered and decorated wedding towels with lace, bed sheets and pillow covers. And where are her openwork angels, lace caps. Her works have been purchased by the Lithuanian National, Lithuanian Art, Šiauliai “Aušros” museums. Her works won first prizes at national exhibitions more than once, were exhibited in Latvia, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Canary Islands, traveled to the USA, Canada, Italy, Sweden, etc. In 2006, A. Krajinienei was granted the status of an artist.
