This was confirmed to Elta by LVAT representative Kamilė Arbačiauskaitė. According to her, the court received E. Vaitkaus’ complaint on March 29, and on April 2. the complaint was amended.

“The complaint is requested to be recognized by the CEC on March 26, 2024. the decision is invalid from the moment of its adoption and to apply measures to ensure the requirements of the complaint – to prevent the CEC from printing the publication of the election programs of the candidates participating in the presidential elections until the adoption of the court decision”, K. Arbačiauskaitė named the content of E. Vaitkaus’ complaint.

The court plans to consider E. Vaitkaus’ complaint on Wednesday.

The CEC decided that E. Vaitkaus’ election program will not be printed in the publication with information about presidential candidates. In the Commission’s assessment, part of the program provisions of E. Vaitkaus contradict the principles of social harmony, fair and honorable elections provided for in the Election Code. Therefore, the publication will print the name and surname of the candidate and an information notice that the submitted program did not meet the requirements.

At the CEC meeting, Rokas Stabingis, head of the Legal and Research Department of the CEC, asserted that the election program of E. Vaitkaus contains statements directed against Lithuania’s international commitments, including NATO membership, and statements aimed at spreading mistrust in the citizens of Ukraine. traitors.

E. Vaitkaus changed the provisions of his program, but, in the CEC’s opinion, he did not essentially eliminate the indicated shortcomings.
