The Klaipėda Regional Waste Management Center reminds that each driver can return 5 used tires each year for free to the large waste sites of the Klaipėda city administered by the Klaipėda Regional Waste Management Center (KRATC): Tilžės st. 60A, Plieno str. 13, North Ave. 30.

Also, if you buy new tires at a store or service center, you can also return your old tires there for free. Only the quantity and type of tires to be purchased and left must match: if you buy car tires, you cannot leave tractor or truck tires.

When delivering tires at KRATC sites, drivers are asked to fill out a declaration. It can be filled out by downloading the form in advance from www.kratc.lt, or by arriving at a specific KRATC site.

It is most beneficial for local toll payers when the tires are given to companies that sell or fit them. If the tires are brought to the KRATC site, part of the waste management costs are covered by the fee paid by the residents.

The working hours and addresses of KRATC sites can be found at https://kratc.lt/lt/atlieku-surinkom-aiksteles/, if you have any questions, call during working hours on tel. +370 800 13344, ask by e-mail by e-mail [email protected]

It is PROHIBITED to leave waste in yards near containers, on roadsides, in the areas of garage communities or elsewhere. This is an administrative violation for which fines are imposed.

If you notice people polluting the environment with old tires, the Ministry of the Environment invites you to report this immediately by calling the general emergency number 112.
