The driver was briefly detained

The stubborn BMW driver had to be detained by the police. The 22-year-old driver started to argue with the officers, refused to turn around, demanded to let him continue. In the street in front of S. Daukantas Square, the traffic is one-way, the driver drove in disregarding the “No Entry” road sign. The driver was sober.

The police officers drew up a protocol for violating traffic rules, but even then the driver did not intend to pull over the BMW parked in the middle of the street and blocking traffic. The young man left only when the officers decided to call the technical assistance service to remove the car obstructing the traffic.

When this incident took place, a dozen people protested in S. Daukant Square. Residents of the Panevėžys district are protesting on Tuesday in Vilnius, near the Presidential Palace, about the solutions for the Panevėžys junction proposed by the developers of the European railway track “Rail Baltica”.
