After the resignation of Rta Krasauskiena, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (MSM) hopes that the competition for the head of the National Education Agency (NA) will be announced by the middle of April.
Together with the Old Management Agency, we are doing preparatory work, we are the members of the delegation commission, next week the commission will choose the evaluation criteria. We believe that in the near future, in the first half of April, the Old Management Agency will announce a tender, the ministry said in a comment to BNS.
According to MSM, the Public Management Agency sets the date of the tender taking into account the schedules of ongoing tenders.
The public management agency BNS stated that the specific date of the tender has not yet been set.
Currently, the agency is temporarily managed by Aidas Aldakauskas, who previously held the position of director of the Quality Assessment Department.
R. Krasauskiens resigned from the position of head of the institution after receiving criticism for the quality of his work.
When commenting on the decision, Minister of Local Affairs Gintautas Jakts stated that the work was delayed, the managers did not submit the application on time, as a result Lithuania may lose more than EUR 600,000 to the European Union fund.
R. Krasauskien has been the head of NA since 2020, last year in August she won the competition announced by MSM to lead the agency for a second term.
