Cargo, warehousing, port, airport and utility company Alwark has a new manager. Tomas Samulionis, who has been the head of the municipal equipment division until now, has become the new head, replacing the long-time manager of Alwark, Julių Urbanavičius. In the meantime, Mr. Urbanavičius has been appointed as the head of Alwark Group.

According to J. Urbanavičius, with the consistent expansion of activities and the growing number of subsidiary companies, the time has naturally come to pay more attention to the entire group of companies. During the entire period of the company’s existence, 6 subsidiaries were established, and from now on, their effective management and development in the region will be ensured by the newly established company “Alwark Group”. Taking into account the ongoing changes, the change of managers in Alwark was an inevitable and strategically important step.

“In our company, the internal growth of employees is promoted, professional competences are developed, which means that employees successfully use the opportunities for career development. The new manager of Alwark, T. Samulionis, was in charge of the municipal equipment department for eight years. His determination, initiative and ability to set ambitious goals both for himself and his team, as well as his desire to develop and deepen his knowledge during his studies, gave confidence in Tom’s competence and determination”, notes J. Urbanavičius.

Talking about future plans, Alwark’s new CEO highlighted the trend among customers to electrify their fleet of vehicles due to more cost-effective operation, less downtime and zero emissions. In addition, he emphasized that the company is actively developing the field of intralogistics, where automation, intelligent warehouse management and other autonomous processes ensure a smoother flow of operations and higher productivity – all this helps to make the business more efficient.

“The takeover of the works happened smoothly because we had coordinated and approved long-term plans. For more than a decade, we have continuously grown, expanded our team, improved our results, set ourselves ambitious goals and pursued them, so one of the main tasks is to maintain this trend. In order to present our customers with innovative, latest technologies that meet their needs, we are actively developing a new direction – intralogistics. Our goal is to offer complex automated solutions related to the management, optimization and automation of warehouse, production, and logistics processes. As the business increasingly gives priority to electric vehicles and develops the direction of intralogistics, it also has to face new challenges, but attention to customer needs, raising the qualifications of employees and improving professional competences ensure the quality of the services provided,” emphasizes T. Samulionis.
