Gasoline prices in Lithuania increased by 0.3 percent, diesel prices decreased by about 0.6 percent. Brent crude was flat for a second straight week at around $88.4/bbl, while TTF natural gas rose 2.1 percent.

April 22-28 the average of wholesale electricity prices in Lithuania increased from 78.6 Eur/MWh to 82.9 Eur/MWh. In Poland, the wholesale price of electricity decreased by 6.9 percent. – from 92.6 Eur/MWh to 86.2 Eur/MWh.

Energy demand has increased

Compared to the previous week, electricity demand in Lithuania increased by 4.4 percent to 234.4 GWh in the week under review.

The total electricity production in the country on April 22-28, compared to the previous week, increased by 16.4 percent. and reached 142.3 GWh. Wind power plants produced the most electricity – 57 GWh, or 46.9 percent. more than the previous week.

Electricity production in solar power plants reached 30 GWh, which is 2.4 percent. more than the previous week. Hydroelectric plants produced 19.9 GWh – 6 percent. more than a week ago. However, 13 percent less electricity was produced by thermal power plants – 20.9 GWh.

Natural gas prices continue to rise. At the TTF outlet in the Netherlands, the average price increased by 2.1 percent compared to the previous week. – from 28.3 Eur/MWh to 28.9 Eur/MWh. According to natural gas price futures, natural gas prices for the coming year are predicted to be in the range of 29-35 EUR/MWh.

European gas storages are currently filled to about 61.6 percent. (last week it was 62 percent). A year ago, storage capacity was 59 percent.

Inčukalnis gas storage is now about 46 percent full, compared to about 45.4 percent a week ago and 37.2 percent in the same period a year ago.

Last year, the Klaipėda LNG terminal operated at 70 percent capacity. capacity. 424.9 GWh of natural gas was imported to Lithuania through the Klaipėda terminal (previous week – 315.5 GWh). 93.7 GWh of natural gas was exported from Lithuania to Poland. 325.9 GWh of natural gas was consumed in Lithuania (previous week – 304.4 GWh).

According to LEA, biofuel prices have increased in all Baltic states. Biofuel prices jumped by 11.5% in Lithuania during the week in question. and reached 18.4 Eur/MWh (last year at the same time biofuel cost 21.91 Eur/MWh in Lithuania). In Estonia, the price of biofuel rose by 2.9 percent. – up to 15.3 Eur/MWh, in Latvia – 5%, up to 21.3 Eur/MWh.

The average price of Brent oil for the week under review was $88.4/bbl, which is the same price as the previous week. However, following the latest Brent futures, prices are expected to be $1-3/bbl higher for the coming year than what was estimated a week ago.

Average gasoline prices increased in Lithuania and Estonia (by 0.3% and 3.7% respectively), decreased in Poland and Germany (by 0.6% and 0.5% respectively), and in Latvia the average price did not change.

Average diesel prices decreased by 0.03-2.1 percent in all compared countries, with the exception of Estonia, where the average price increased by 1.1 percent.

Among the Baltic countries, fuel is the cheapest in Lithuania. The average price of gasoline is higher than the average price of diesel for the third week in a row. Compared to the average fuel prices of the Eurozone countries, the average price of gasoline in Lithuania is 16.3 percent. lower, and diesel – 10.5 percent. smaller.
