Kaunas furniture manufacturer “RVG baldai”, which is transferring its business to other furniture companies, is laying off about one third of its employees, and the rest will be transferred to another company. However, according to its representatives, the company will not be liquidated yet.

“RVG Baldai” is laying off 20 of its 52 employees. The company reported this to the Employment Service. She told BNS that the most layoffs are woodworking machine operators and packers.

As the owner of the company, Remigijus Gronskis, told BNS, he is transferring the business to other furniture makers.

“I’m tired, my health doesn’t allow me to work anymore, I transferred everything to another company. All people, and those who are fired and refused to go, will be fired, will receive compensation,” R. Gronskis said to BNS.

He did not comment on who specifically he is transferring the business to.

“The company remains, but it will no longer carry out the activities it was carrying out,” Aušra Ruseckaitė, the chairman of the company’s Labor Council, told BNS.

Last year, the company received 3.376 million. EUR of income and earned EUR 20,300 in net profit.
