Sweden’s third largest city hosted Eurovision thanks to Loreen, who won last year’s song contest in Liverpool. The song contest, which is held for the 7th time in Sweden, stands out this year with an unconventional 360-degree stage and impressive LED screen installations by Florian Wieder and Fredrik Stormby.
Hollywood star, Swedish actress Malin Åkerman (47) and well-known comedian Petra Mede (54) were entrusted to host the Eurovision Song Contest this year. The latter is leading the song contest for the third time.
Besides selection, the big five countries and Sweden, who won last year, have the ticket to the grand final, as every year.
These are France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. True, this year, somewhat differently than usual, these countries are allowed to appear in the semi-finals of the song contest.
10 countries made it to the grand final: Latvia, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Israel, Greece, Estonia, Switzerland, Sakartwell and Armenia.
