And while it is stressed that this does not yet mean that the king will return to official duties in full force, the palace is still sending positive signals about his improving health.

Therefore, next Tuesday, King Charles III will begin a symbolic journey to the cancer treatment center. His summer plans also include a state visit, a year in which he will host the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

According to the Chamber, he will make more commitments. The king is said to be feeling “emboldened” about trying to return to public events.

The BBC reports that while this sounds like optimistic news for the king’s health, the treatment that began in February is still ongoing and its exact end date is unknown.

A statement from Buckingham Palace also said it was “too early to say” how long his treatment would last.

“Doctors are very pleased with the progress made so far and will continue to be positive about the King’s continued recovery,” the statement said.

It is not yet clear whether the King will attend some major events such as Trooping the Colour, D-Day commemorations, summer garden parties, Royal Ascot and overseas trips in the autumn.

The Chamber says that decisions will be made based on the recommendations of doctors.
