Donatas Montvydas is already officially free: the court divorced him and his wife Veronika Names

The district court of the city of Vilnius granted the divorce request of Veronika and Donatas Montvydas on Thursday afternoon.

This is for the portal People.lt confirmed Giedrius Janonis, the representative of the Office of the Chairman of the Vilnius City District Court for relations with the media and the public.

According to him, the Montvydas’ request for an official divorce was received on March 4, and on March 28 this civil case was examined.

Veronika and Donatas applied to the court for divorce by mutual consent of both spouses.

Since the couple parted amicably, the divorce process did not take long.

The district court of the city of Vilnius examined the divorce request of the now ex-spouses in accordance with the written procedure. For this reason, neither Veronika nor Donatas had to participate in the meeting held on Thursday.

“I have made a decision not to speak publicly about my personal life, but lately I feel that it gives way too much space to talk that hurts me and my family.

To those who respect me and my family, please do not speculate or look for reasons. All the rumors I’ve heard only confirm why the world today is so unsafe, shallow and irresponsible. Apparently, this message won’t change much either, but out of self-respect, I can’t just remain an observer.

I support the LGBT community, as well as my circle of friends who belong to it, but I myself have always been and am sure of my orientation. I have never had any attraction or relationship with men. I have been and will remain loyal to women. This is how I know and feel myself.

I have no reason to make any excuses or share this information as it is a personal matter for each person – however I wanted to put an end to it.

The news of the couple’s divorce came as a surprise to many. However, the most vigilant fans have been wondering for some time whether the couple’s relationship was in crisis – D. Montvydas and V. Montvydienė did not appear together in public, and there were no more pictures of them together on social networks.

D. Montvydas and V. Montvydienė are raising two children – a daughter and a son.

The couple exchanged wedding rings in September 2013 in Vilnius.

Donatas, as he said in an interview, met Veronika in the early 2010s while preparing for the project “Tabami Goes Michael Jackson”. They kissed to the sound of this legendary artist’s ballad “Liberian Girl” and decided to be together from then on.
