Putin’s failed pride – he showed only one tank in the military parade

--

Every year on May 9 Russia is celebrating Victory Day with a big parade to commemorate the victory over Nazi Germany 79 years ago. It remains an important symbol of the country’s national identity. Every Victory Day, Moscow wraps itself in patriotic, parade clothing, reports the Sky News portal.

This year there was only one tank in the parade

In his Victory Day speech this year, Vladimir Putin tried to warn that Russia’s military forces were “always ready” but admitted that the country was going through a “difficult period”.

Only one tank took part in the parade in Moscow during the whole show – as the country continues to devote a lot of resources to the war in Ukraine.

The World War II tank T-34 was the only one in the parade – just like last year.

It is reported that in 2020 more than 20 tanks participated in the parade, and in 2023 and 2024 – just one at a time.

Vladimir Putin’s warning

Thousands of military personnel marched in the parade, and other armored vehicles were also depicted.

During this year’s speech, V. Putin admitted that Russia is going through a “difficult period” because “the future of the motherland depends on us.”

“Today, on Victory Day, we realize this even more acutely. Our strategic forces are always ready for battle,” V. Putin warned.
