British authorities are set to deport almost 6,000 illegal migrants this year, hoping it will deter others from making the dangerous journey to Britain in small boats.

More about this in TV3 news.

British migration officials launched an unprecedented operation. They are coming to arrest the first illegal migrants who will be deported to a distant country in central Africa – Rwanda in July.

“We need deterrence. We must make it clear that if you come to us illegally, you will not be able to stay here and we will be able to ask you out. This is the only way to properly solve the problem of illegal migration,” says Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak.

Deportation to Rwanda awaits illegal immigrants of all nationalities who entered the UK illegally after 2022. Whether Iranian, Albanian, Vietnamese or from any other country.

The first deportation list includes 5,700 asylum seekers. True, when they learned that they were in danger of traveling to Rwanda without a return ticket, most of the illegals began to hide.

Migrants will be detained for another 5 years

Illegals do not want to go to Rwanda, although Rwandans are waiting for them. In the capital, Kigali, a hostel has already been prepared for migrants, where they can stay. In addition, the British government will pay for the first five years of the migrants’ new life in Rwanda.

“We are very grateful to receive immigrants from the United Kingdom. This will contribute to the development of our country,” says Kigali resident Alice Mukumana.

The British government has already paid Rwanda over €160 million to host migrants – and that’s just the beginning. However, it supposedly still pays more than keeping illegals in the UK.

However, small boats continue to illegally cross the Channel from France to the UK. There were 268 arrivals on Tuesday alone, and more than 8,000 since the start of the year. This is a third more than during the same period last year.

British Prime Minister says deportation to Rwanda will deter other illegals from making such trips. However, human rights activists fiercely criticize these plans, and two years ago, the European Court of Human Rights stopped the flight of an already prepared illegal migrant plane from London at the last minute.
