The former winner of ‘Britain’s Best Lawn’ has revealed some useful tips for looking after a lawn which he admits can be quite challenging.

“You don’t need to mow the lawn too hard at this point because you’re just stressing it out and you’re going to get spots,” he said.

Cutting the grass when it’s very wet will cause more damage in the long run, so he advises waiting until the grass starts to dry out a bit. However, if you feel you have no other option and need to mow a soggy lawn, he advises raising the blades 25-30mm above the ground.
Wet grass provides a favorable environment for moss to grow, which is a very common problem at this time of year. An expert says you can get rid of moss easily with an inexpensive product available at garden centers.
Mr. Grindle advises applying diluted ferrous sulfate to the moss and it will blacken and rot overnight. in 2018 Speaking to MailOnline about his lawn care routine, he said he waters the lawn every day.
“I water it every day,” he said. – I usually start at 6 p.m. and I finish around 10 p.m.”The gardener also said he installed a system to water all the hanging flower baskets.
