It is 150 sq. m two-story house. Its main part is connected to the western part on one side, and a wooden pedestrian bridge connects to the third on the other. Therefore, such a solution allows to directly connect three previously independent buildings and their spaces.

The functional structure of the residential house clearly separates private and common spaces on the first floor. The main (central) and eastern parts have a bedroom and bathroom, while the western part has a kitchen and living room. This kitchen and living room space has become a connection between private and common spaces, and a staircase connects the first and second floors.

The first step in the reconstruction process was to identify the outstanding elements of the building so that they could be painstakingly restored. The entire design process was planned in such a way that the innovation was in harmony with the preserved historical elements. This decision especially surprised and pleased the owners.

In keeping with this principle, the stone walls in all three parts of the building were preserved and strengthened. Both the inner and outer parts of the stone walls were cleaned and renewed.

“We respect the original arrangement and structure of the walls of the building, so they became the axis around which the entire renovation of the house revolves,” said the architect of the architecture studio PLP Atelier.

The western and central parts of the buildings are covered with a single roof, which is continuous on the northern side and stepped on the southern side. The double-sloped roof is also preserved on the east side.

The entire roof surface is covered with local, traditional black slate tiles, which give the building integrity and harmony with the local cultural and natural environment.

The two main facades are perfectly adapted to the climatic conditions that affect the building structures.

The northern facade is designed opaque, uniform, with only a few small openings, while the southern facade is open, with wide glazed galleries, thus adapting as much of the building’s space as possible for the comfort of the owners.
