All the defendants were fined by the court in the corruption case. Executor R. Grigis was allocated 40 thousand. a fine of EUR 30,000 for his son T. Grigis, who was found guilty of bribery and influence-peddling. EUR, lawyer M. Liatukaita – 10 thousand. EUR, lawyer B. Liatukas – 10 thousand. EUR fine.

Another lawyer was accused in the case, but she died during the trial, so the criminal proceedings against her were terminated.

As indicated in the court report, the mitigating circumstance for M. Liatukaita and B. Liatuka is that they confessed and sincerely regretted their actions. The fact that they committed the criminal acts as accomplices was recognized as an aggravating circumstance for all the defendants.

In this case, it was established that out of 2 thousand T. Grigas and the lawyer who died during the trial shared 500 euros of the bribe amount, and 1,000 euros. euros were handed over to the then judge R. Grigis. Therefore, the court decided that this money must be confiscated as a result of the criminal acts after the judgment becomes final.

The court found that the bribery of judge R. Grigos was initiated by M. Liatukaitė, a lawyer working in Kaunas, together with her father, also a lawyer, B. Liatuk. According to the case, the latter, using acquaintances, promised to hand over the bribe to judge R. Grigis. It was established that lawyer B. Liatukas agreed with another lawyer from Kaunas (she died during the trial) that she, together with the son of judge R. Grigos, with whom the law firm had a cooperation agreement, would hand over a bribe to the judge. It was established that the judge took the bribe at his workplace at the time – in the Kaunas Palace of the Kaunas District Court.

According to the data of the case, the bribe was given for the fact that the lawyer M. Liatukaitė was defended in the case of an administrative offense under appeal procedure, the term of revocation of the driver’s license was shortened from the appointed 12 months to 3 months. anti-alcohol engine locks are not installed.

According to that court, the defendants M. Liatukaitė and B. Liatukas fully admitted their guilt, the defendants R. Grigas and T. Grigas denied their guilt, but the explanations of the latter that the money found with them is not related to the desire to make a favorable decision for the lawyer M. Liatukaitė’s client on administrative offense in the case, contradicts the data in the case.

“The fact that M. Liatukaitė, B. Liatukas, T. Grigas and R. Grigas committed the criminal acts accused of them is confirmed by the testimony of the witnesses, the explanations of M. Liatukaitė and B. Liatukas, recorded in the protocols of actions carried out during the criminal investigation, searches, object inspections data, the conclusion of the specialist of the forensic examination center, other evidence collected and examined in the case”, noted the judge Donatas Jatužis who examined the case.
