Barron Trump, 18, will become the latest family member to enter politics, joining his siblings to represent Florida at an event in Milwaukee.
At the convention, Trump will be officially named the Republican nominee to face Democratic President Joe Biden, and each state’s delegates will nominate a candidate for the November election.
Barron will join Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump in the Florida delegation, the state party said Wednesday.
Earlier this year, Barron was spotted standing next to his family at his grandmother’s funeral. He lived in the White House as a child while his father was president, but was strictly protected from the public eye by his mother, Melania.
“Barron is on the delegation list and is very interested in the political process in our country,” a Republican campaign official told ABC News.
The only Trump child who will not attend the convention as a delegate from Florida is his eldest daughter Ivanka, who served as his senior adviser with her husband, Jared Kushner, during his first presidency.
Don Jr. and Eric are often around Trump and are campaign regulars as they seek his re-election.
Before the election, D. Trump is strengthening his family’s influence on the party. In March, the Republican National Committee elected Eric’s wife, Lara, to a leadership position.
The former president has been given the day off from his criminal trial in New York to attend Barron’s graduation ceremony next Friday.
