During his visit to Kyiv on May 2. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron has reaffirmed the UK’s support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and approved Ukraine’s strikes on targets in Russia using British-supplied weapons. reported Sky News.

In Kyiv, Cameron pledged 3 billion pounds ($3.75 billion) a year to Ukraine and military aid “for as long as it takes.”

“We are giving away the largest amount of equipment we could so far. And part of it is coming today,” said the British foreign minister, speaking in Kyiv.

He noted that Ukraine has the right to decide how to use the supplied equipment:

“As for what the Ukrainians are going to do, we think it’s their decision how to use these weapons, they’re defending their country, they’ve been illegally attacked by Putin and they have to take action.” We are not discussing any restrictions on these matters,” he said.

D. Cameron noted that “Ukraine has the absolute right to strike Russia”. Asked if that included targets in Russia, he said:

“This is Ukraine’s decision and Ukraine has such a right. When Russia strikes inside Ukraine, you can totally understand why Ukraine has to defend itself, drive the Russians out of its country and have the ability to strike back.”

As previously noted by Euromaidan Press, Mr. Cameron’s statement potentially opens the possibility for the Ukrainians to strike Russian territory using British Storm Shadow missiles.
