Russia announces Ukrainian drone attack on oil storage facility and explosions and fires in Belgorod

On the night of May 9, Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked an oil storage facility in the village of Yurivka in Russia’s Krasnodar Territory, and explosions and fires broke out in the Russian city of Belgorod.

Russian media and Telegram channels initially reported that Ukrainian armed forces allegedly attempted to attack an oil storage facility in the village of Yurivka near Anapa with anti-aircraft missiles.

Later, Russian authorities, in particular the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory, confirmed the fact that drones had struck an oil storage facility in Yurivka.

A statement from the operational headquarters noted: “that 6 drones were shot down, but several fell in the area of ​​​​the oil base. As a result, a fire broke out – several tanks were damaged.”

According to this report, 62 people and 20 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Later, Russian Telegram channels reported explosions and fires in Belgorod, Russia, and posted photos and videos.
