Fans of Panathinaikos Athens, who made it to the final four of the EuroLeague, soon had more good news waiting for them.

Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas announces that the Greek club has extended the contract with one of the leaders Kendrick Nunn. The American will play in Athens for two more years, although he has the option to return to the National Basketball Association (NBA) this summer.

He only joined Panathinaikos at the end of October and made his debut in the seventh round of the Euroleague, but it didn’t take him long to get up to speed.

In the regular season, the 28-year-old, 195 cm tall defender collected 15.4 points (39 percent three-pointers), 2.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 10.9 utility points in 27 minutes.

He kicked it into even higher gear in the playoff series against Maccabi Tel Aviv, spending 30 minutes on the court in five games and collecting 19.2 points (52 percent from three), 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 16.6 assists. .

This is his first tour in Europe. K. Nunn, who has been striving for a place in the NBA for a long time, also made a resounding debut there, entering the top five rookies in 2020. However, after short stages in Miami, Los Angeles and Washington, he had to look for a new stop overseas.

“Panathinaikos” returned to the final four of the Euroleague with an American in the lead after a very long break. The Greeks have not marched this far since 2012.

“Long break”: the work of Lithuanian agents, Lithuanians raising the value of LKL, LKF’s ability to “buy” a high-level player, the longevity of basketball players, leaking information from clubs and the possibilities of 3×3 national teams
