Legendary Belgian basketball player Sam Van Rossom announced the end of his career. He will turn 38 at the beginning of June.
The 188 cm tall attacker started his career at the Ostend club Filou, where he played from 2005 to 2008. By the way, he also played the last year of his career here.
He also represented Peza’s Carpegna Prosciutto, Zaragoza’s Casademont, and played the most years for Valencia, from 2013 to 2023.
S.Van Rossom has twice become the champion of the European Cup (2014 and 2019), once won the Spanish championship (2017), twice – Belgian (2006 and 2007), once won the cup of his native country (2008).
He twice became the Belgian basketball player of the year (2007 and 2008).
In the Belgian and Dutch league this year, he scored 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 22 minutes. In the Champions League, the statistics reached 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 11 utility points in 25 minutes.
