At UFC 301 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, he scored an impressive victory after appearing in the preliminary program Mauricio Ruffy (10-1).

Dubbed “Young McGregor” by UFC commentators, the 27-year-old Brazilian defeated the 29-year-old Australian by technical knockout in the first round of the fight in the lightweight category. Jamie Mullarkey (17-7).

M. Ruffy looked good from the beginning, he defended his opponent all over the cage and hit hard. At the end of the round, Mr. Ruffy landed some hard right hands and then went on a hurricanrana attack, flying several, a series of forearms and a crushing victory with 18 seconds left in the round.

It was M. Ruffy’s first fight in the world’s strongest MMA organization, while J. Mullarkey’s 11th fight in the UFC.

It is remarkable that all 10 of Mr. Ruffy’s victories in his professional MMA career were won by knockouts or technical knockouts.

He entered the UFC organization during Dana White’s “Contender Series 2023” tournament, when he defeated Raimond Magomedaliyev by technical knockout in the third round.
