Adrian Newey is under the magnifying glass this weekend in Miami. He announced before the Miami GP that he will leave the Red Bull team after this season.
After such a statement by the 65-year-old Briton, various rumors appeared linking him with Ferrari and other teams. However, he is not in a hurry yet.
Speaking to the media, Newey said he was flattered by Lewis Hamilton’s words. The racer, who will move to Ferrari in 2025, described working with the legendary engineer as a dream.
Mr Newey said: “To be honest, I’m very flattered to hear those words from Lewis. However, at this point I want to take a little break and then I will see what happens next.
As Forest Gump once said, “I’m feeling a little tired.” I’m in a very good position where I don’t have to work to survive. I work for it because I enjoy it, and now I felt like it was the right time to take a step back, take a little break and look at life.
Me and my wife, Mandy, and our dogs will probably start traveling. We’ll buy a motor home or something like that and go to France and enjoy life.
Then maybe at some point, I have no idea when, I will stand in the shower and decide: ok, this will be my next challenge. At the moment, there is still no plan,” said the legendary Formula 1 engineer.
