“Maccabi” leads 2-1 in the quarter-final series up to three wins. The fourth match of the series will take place again in Belgrade on Thursday.

Forced to play again without one of their leaders, Wade Baldwin, Maccabi started the match solidly this time and already had a double-digit lead 23:11 after the first quarter.

The hosts did not release the initiative until the break.

In the 24th minute, Maccabi’s lead became a record – 57:39, but then the Greeks slowly began to climb the mountain.

A great fourth quarter gave the guests hope, and at the start of the last minute, Mathias Lessort could have put the guests ahead for the first time with penalties, but he only hit the first and equalized the result – 83:83.

The last attack belonged to the hosts. 2.6 seconds left. Lorenzo Brown provoked Jerian Grant’s foul, threw penalties and PAO did not have time to save themselves. Kendrick Nunn’s final 3-pointer missed the mark.

During the entire match, the Greeks never took the lead.

This match was not very impressive for M.Grigoni either – the Kaunian scored 2 points (1/1 two-pointers, 0/3 three-pointers), made 2 assists, violated the rules 2 times and collected -1 utility score in 9 minutes.

We will remind you that PAO took second place in the regular season, while Maccabi made it to the playoffs only after the knockout stage.

Maccabi: Josh Nebo 22 (9 rebounds, 31 points), Lorenzo Brown 16 (8 assists), Bonzie Colson 13, James Webb and Jasiel Rivero 8 each.

Panathinaikos: Kendrick Nunn 25, Ioannis Papapetrou 17, Mathias Lessort 14, Konstantinos Mitoglou 10.
