Companies, farmers and communities from April 4. will be able to submit applications and receive financing for the installation of individual electricity storage devices with a capacity of up to 500 kWh.
It is planned to allocate 3.2 mln. Eur, reports the Ministry of Energy.
“In Lithuania, energy production from solar and wind power plants is increasing rapidly, so storage devices are becoming a necessary tool that allows you to store excess energy and use it later, when it is not possible to consume all the energy at once. Both those who have already installed a solar or wind power plant, as well as those planning to install one, can apply for support for energy storage,” Dainius Kreivys, Minister of Energy, is quoted in the report.
For very small, small and medium-sized enterprises or farmers who meet these criteria, renewable energy, citizen energy associations and non-profit legal entities seeking to obtain association status, the state will reimburse 40% of the costs for the storage facility.
The support intensity will be calculated from a fixed amount, which is EUR 744.23 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of a lithium iron phosphate storage device without VAT and EUR 646.41 per kWh of a lithium ion storage device without VAT. Storage facilities will have to be installed within 12 months.
It is planned that by 2026 II quarter 15 MWh of new electricity from renewable energy storage capacities will be created.
The means of support calls will be administered by the Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA).
