“I’m one of those who say we don’t have a presidential campaign anymore. Alas, but she is almost killed, – Delphi L. Kontrimas spoke in the program “You are serious?” – The contagion of not holding elections in the minds of politicians is very widespread. They would gladly not hold the Seimas elections either, they would only go around the departments. By the way, the EP elections are still without any gas, so to speak.”

In the last week, the attention of the public was not the only debate, during which the presidential candidate Eduardas Vaitkus received criticism for his rhetoric. “Maybe it will sound controversial, but as Kontrim, I don’t like controversies at all ok. Look, I wouldn’t attack that Kid at all. Due to the fact that he represents the thinking of not even a thousand, but I don’t know how many thousands of Lithuanian people. We should be asking what to do after those elections are over and Vaitkus has gone down in history. How to work with that community, with those people who think like this, because Vaitkus is stuck some 20-30 years back. He speaks in the same phrases, in the same terms that were in those years. Twenty years ago, we also thought that there would be democracy in Russia”, said L. Kontrimas, but he added that “healthier” people did not have any hopes for Russia at that time either.

“Yes, Vaitkus is simply lost in time. And the further, the more, if he, for example, does not stop this rhetoric, he can certainly be arrested after the elections as a broadcaster of a hostile narrative”, said the public relations expert.

Not only the candidates got attention this week: the Freedom Party was caught by the fact that President Gitanas Nausėda is so supportive of Eurovision participant Silvester Belt, who does not hide his sexual orientation, and arrows of criticism flew in the direction of designer Juozas Statkevičius because he appeared in the debate behind candidate Igna Vegleki’s back thus expressing his support.

And L. Kontrimas said that he even misses publicizing the position of famous people. “There are those who silently support one thing, then another, we see very uncritical people who support one or another candidate due to very fashionable positions, but we lack such a clear position that I have my opinion and justify it,” he said. L. Kontrimas, wishing to dare to state his position publicly. According to him, Lithuania will only be better off.

A public relations expert assured that if we postponed the elections for at least a month, we would see interesting things. “Because I see that some of the candidates don’t hold their nerve. They are not ready for psychological attacks”, said L. Kontrimas.

By the way, L. Kontrimas worked with Roland Paks during his presidential campaign. His campaign was very intense, and a lot of money was allocated for it. L. Kontrimas said that money is indeed important, but added that it is not only that. “These were decisions created by three heads,” said the public relations specialist about the campaign carried out more than twenty years ago. “Paks was extremely eager to win the elections. Everyone should wish such a client in politics,” said L. Kontrimas.

Every Friday, Are You Serious? reviews the week’s top news stories. This time, the program discussed the presidential elections, the upcoming referendum on the preservation of citizenship and the big “Eutovision” that will take place tomorrow. By the way, L. Kontrimas not only expressed his opinion about Silvester Belt’s performance, but also named what place he would predict for him. We invite you to watch the show here.
