Political scientists would say that the best thing for a political organization with a stable electorate is to have a low voter turnout, where opposing party sympathizers, or so-called “protest votes,” don’t come out to vote. Knowing this, conservatives at least did a great job in the presidential campaign.

Agree that such invisible and boring elections, in which the people of Lithuania elect their head of state, have not yet happened in our country. In the last presidential elections, in the second round, there was still such an intrigue – Gitanas Nausėda or Ingrida Šimonytė, and now the latter, being the Prime Minister, has gained so much that she will probably come third in this competition. Political commentators usually tend to talk about party swings that happen every term, when the former rulers are replaced by the opposition politicians after the election.

But in this case, we should talk about the exceptional phenomenon of the conservative party in the life of Lithuania. I remembered the remarks of a good acquaintance: “I am not interested in politics. I am not interested in what happens in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, I want to live in my country and do my job. Everything goes better, sometimes worse, until the politicians of the Homeland Union come to power and become the rulers. Then chaos, chaos begins in Lithuania, which covers all areas of life and the lives of all of us…”.

That’s according to a school principal angered by this term’s Conservative education reforms. Listen to what doctors are saying about their minister, and anyone who has faced health problems will tell you that the work in this system has only gotten worse in the last few years.

In addition to Minister Arūnas Dulkios, who knows nothing about medicine, in this Government headed by I.Šimonytė, we still have energy “geniuses” Dainiai Kreivi, whom we have to thank together with Gintara Skaiste for the independent electricity suppliers and the increased prices. According to the decisions of the Commission and MEPs, the farmers of the old continent are flocking.

Or maybe you want to discuss our country’s economy and innovations in a matter-of-fact way with Aušrina Armonaite, a political scientist who is passionate about the LGBT and transvestite flags of the ministry? I think you could only talk about conquering space.

If you are concerned about the state of Lithuanian roads or communication issues related to the railways in the homeland, then in this area, where professionals once worked, the “libertarian” Marius Skuodis is the master. The minister of the “collapsing bridges” country understands that his friends and Parthians.

V. Lenin said that even a cook can rule the state. This is how a citizen wins the contest for “Lietuvos geležinkelias”, shouting that we will reach Europe with these roads, although she has only seen the locomotive on TV, and at that time passengers are being loaded onto buses from the broken down train in Plungė.

There were times when the Ministry of Justice was headed by law professors, professionals and authorities in their field. I would very much like to ask, what feelings do they have when they see the tattooed secretary who served them coffee not so long ago in the minister’s post?

I wonder why the parents of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Agnė Bilotaitė, did not direct her to study the profession of an actor in their time. Judging by the facial expression she fixes when commenting on G. Nausėda’s statements, she would be an excellent performer of tragic roles. Don Quixote could also be played, because it is difficult to imagine her alone, without Sancho Pancha, that is, without Renato Pozhela or Rustam Lyubayev sneaking up behind her. Both are funny to watch and sad when you think about what they will have to do when the government changes.

Conservative prime minister, candidate for the country’s president, I. Šimonytė, also has liberal coalition partners in the government – Simon Gentvilas, who has been delegated to the environment ministers. Both recently participated in a widely publicized forest planting campaign on LRT. When they say that they are in favor of preserving Lithuania’s forests, it sounds to me the same as Arab Islamists against terrorism, rock for drugs or mice for cats. In our country, the last stage of destruction of forest management, which was once recognized as the best in the world, has begun.

The General Office, after several flawed forest reforms for the whole of Lithuania, is being transformed into a joint-stock company. In fact, the second “Ignitis”, which the current president himself has already called a mistake. In private conversations, specific names of people who appropriate all our forests are mentioned. So why, in your opinion, are these questions not asked by the LRT presenters in the debates of the candidates for the president of Lithuania? Why nothing about it is not published in the news of all of us Lithuanian taxpayers-supported public broadcaster?

I am tired of talking about the culture of this Government, the areas managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, their problematic ministers, about the completely inappropriate time for changing the head of the National Guard. You get tired of just naming the unprecedented problems created by the conservative-led Ministry of Foreign Affairs for all the people of Lithuania. I will only mention that during the ministry of Gabriel Landsberg, we all practically lost the opportunity to communicate, do business with China, Russia, we cannot travel freely to almost half of the countries in the world, with which our “diplomats” managed to get angry.

In this situation, it is interesting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Landsbergis is the chairman of the conservative party, which he “inherited” from his grandfather, the de facto leader of the country, Vytautas Landsbergis.

The Conservative Party delegated I. Šimonytė, who is the “boss” of G. Landsbergis, to the position of prime minister. I am trying to understand which of this trio I should be “thankful” to for the newly built “iron curtain” for Lithuanians, and I find one, all-encompassing concept – the Homeland Union, Lithuanian conservatives: everything fits here: lies, deception, love of money, interference among the people of the nation, division into elites and “beets”, lack of responsibility for their actions.

When did it start? Then, when the nation, which was not broken during the occupations, won freedom, gave the power to “themselves” and returned to their usual jobs? It’s like in childhood books about Indians who bravely fight the invaders, and their chiefs, drunk on “fire water”, sell the prairies to white people for beads . This is how we, under the leadership of “our” conservatives, do not have “Mažeikiai Nafta”, Ignalina NPP, navy, our own banks, our own currency, we keep absorbing “Western investments”.

Remember the old joke? A friend asks a friend:

– What are you doing?

– I sell furniture – he answers.

– How are you doing? – the friend asks again.

– Okay. There is only one stool left at home.

Doesn’t this remind you of our so-called “crisis Prime Minister” conservative Andrias Kubilius, who is now teaching his wisdom not only to Lithuania, but also to the entire European Parliament? It’s not cheap for current conservatives to have such teachers. It was only possible to cut off the top, and instead of it, either the de facto head of the state or the “crisis Prime Minister” could be stuck. After all, the hand points to the conservatory and the former KGB palace.

It is said that during the Soviet rule, Lithuanians were less afraid of the KGB than they are now to say something boldly about the conservatives in power. You will lose your job immediately. It’s also good that elections, if you know anything about them and come to vote, are secret in our country. It is hard for me to imagine that Lithuania likes to live under the horses’ hooves of the coalition of three maidens, reminiscent of A. Dürer’s “Horsemen of the Apocalypse”. We do not want to live like this, we do not want our children and grandchildren to live under such a government.

I don’t know how “de facto”, but this year when we come to the polls on election days, we can do “de jure”.

P.S Excerpts from the works of my friend, the poet Albert Antanavičius, a native dzuk:

When the world rules, who is lazy,

And that’s not the world for us to live in.

……

When the world is ruled by the bully,

It’s not just the hands that are used to being warmed by the fire of hell

And subine,

But also wallets,

And to lead the nation and the state there,

Where the wind blows or… where the devil takes it.

When the world is ruled by whoever wants to, –

Toothless, spineless or otherwise stupid, –

With your permission, I won’t mention it

names and surnames known to all of us,

For these, other and at least a hundred other reasons

Let’s not pin any hopes on them.
