Police in Vilnius distributed “Bolt” helmets – MadeinVilnius.lt

Lithuanian police officers, together with representatives of the transportation service platform “Bolt” in the capital, paid special attention to electric scooter drivers: they reminded them of the valid provisions of the Road Traffic Rules, observed how mandatory safety measures – safety helmets are used – and emphasized the importance of careful driving.

On May 9-11, according to the approved plan, the Lithuanian police will carry out driver activities throughout the country that are not related to driving (use of mobile communication devices while driving when there is no hands-free equipment), mandatory safety equipment (seat belts, safety helmets, special seats for children (fastening systems ) usage control.

Helmets are mandatory for all minors riding micro-mobility devices: electric scooters, skateboards or rollerblades. Helmets are also mandatory for those persons who drive these vehicles on the roadway. Road traffic regulations recommend wearing a helmet for all micromobility drivers.

On May 9, officers of the Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Road Police Board and Vilnius Chief Police Commissariat Road Police Department took part in a police preventive measure in the capital. Bolt representatives handed over 50 safety helmets to scooter drivers who were reminded of the rules of safe driving.
