As the summer season approaches, intensive inventory management work has already begun in the port city: the benches are impregnated, the places where vandals worked are cleaned. New benches and trash cans were built in various places in Klaipėda, as well as new bicycle racks were installed in several parking lots.
Although inventory repair works are carried out constantly in the city, as the summer season approaches and preparations are made for the influx of tourists, these works take place more often in the port city.
Inga Kubilienė, the head of the Klaipėda Municipality’s Town Management Department, said that work is currently being carried out near the Dangė River, where benches are being sanded and impregnated, as well as fence ropes have been renewed in that area.
New benches were built on Šiaulių street, as well as on the pedestrian paths between apartment buildings, on Varpai and Smiltelė streets.
“We also built new benches at the bus stops on Sausio 15-osios street and Jūrininkų avenue,” said I. Kubilienė.
For the convenience of cyclists, new bike racks have been installed at Karlskrona avenue and in the second Melnragė parking lot.
