Arnas Dūmanas, Head of the Development Department of Lithuanian Airports, says that closing the ramp at Vilnius Airport to cars is necessary due to the redevelopment of the terminal access. According to him, the changes and inconveniences will be completed with the opening of the new departure terminal in 2025. in February.

“We are strongly expanding the future departure terminal and we have reached the stage where the accesses of the existing terminal will be redesigned. As of today, the entrance ramp is no longer functional for passengers, but there is still the possibility of access both on foot and through the old terminal using the elevators,” A. Dūmanas told reporters on Monday.

“We hope that these small inconveniences will allow us to have a significantly more convenient infrastructure in the future. We anticipate that the opening of the new terminal will be in 2025. February. That’s until February. we plan that the passenger path will be slightly different when it will not be possible to get to the second floor with a car. However, there are other sites quite close to the terminal that will also be available to passengers,” he noted.

A. Dūmanas assured that there are currently 10 additional employees at the airport entrances who help direct passengers in the right direction.

“A number of transformations are being carried out in the surrounding area due to the transformation of the transport accesses of the central hub, it is technologically impossible to continue this without carrying out these works. This is one of the stages that is connected with the opening of the new terminal,” said the Lithuanian Airports representative.

“We have hired additional employees who are already working at the approaches to the central square today, 10 additional employees will help direct passengers in the right direction. Arriving earlier is welcome, but not necessary,” he asserted.

Finally, the head of the Development Department of Lithuanian Airports said that further plans for changes at Vilnius Airport will be presented in June.
