It became clear which presidential candidates have packed “departure bags”

--

At the start of the LRT debate on defense, it became clear that only two of the eight presidential candidates have packed their bags: the Prime Minister, Ingrida Šimonytė, candidate of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats, and Giedrimas Jeglinskas, representative of the “Vardan Lietuvos” Democratic Union.

“No, I don’t really have one, because I don’t believe that it will be necessary to use it,” answered Labor Party candidate and chairman Andrius Mazuronis about the departure bag.

“I really have,” Prime Minister I. Šimonytė stated briefly

“We are preparing,” said the Freedom Party candidate Dainius Žalimas, who is also applying to become a member of the European Parliament.

“No, I don’t have it,” said self-employed lawyer Ignas Vēgėlė.

“I am collecting, but I don’t have everything and I will do everything to prevent this from happening, so that it is not needed,” said current president Gitanas Nausėda.

“I have, because we have to be ready all the time,” explained G. Jeglinskas, the candidate of the Democratic Union “Vardan Lietuvos”.

“No, I don’t have it,” said Eduardas Vaitkus.

“I have to, because we travel a lot, we do a lot of tourism, so whether we like it or not, we are with the children all the time,” said Remigijus Žemaitaitis, the chairman of the “Nemunos Aušra” party, who recently resigned from the Seimas due to violation of the Constitution.

The page lt72.lt states that the departure bag must contain documents, their copies, necessary medicines, photos of loved ones, flashlight, radio receiver, glasses and other items needed for hearing or sight, food and water for 3 days, can opener, first aid kit, food for babies, diapers, wet wipes, children’s toys and books, toiletries, sleeping bag, dust mask, matches, pencil and paper, cash, jewelry, cigarettes that can be exchanged.

Departure bags are useful when it is necessary to leave the house very suddenly, so that there is no time to gather things. These are extreme cases, for example, if a war breaks out, there is a fire, someone in the house explodes, and so on.
